Pali Kilakila
New painting for 2026
12.5"x24.5" in. 30lb. Oil Paint, Acrylic Paint, and 24k Genuine Gold on100% Cotton Bristol sheets between layers of Art Resin, on a wooden box frame wrapped in Hawaiian Curly Koa.
Pali Kilakila - Majestic Cliffs. Inspired by Kauai's Na Pali Coast with its tall mountains and valleys. This is home to the wild Kalo (Taro) plant, whose variety is called Kalalau, which is also the name of the largest valley on the Na Pali Coast. These beautiful plants are sacred to the Hawaiian people, seen as their ancestors, and represent Ohana (family). The Kalo live deep in the moist valleys, swaying to the breeze with mist and rain rolling off their leaves like liquid pearls. Inspired by my times sailing and camping down the Na Pali.
This painting is sold, but can be viewed for two weeks at the Troy Carney Art Gallery 3900 in Old Hanapepe Town
